Who is CCDS?
You will notice the initials “CCDS” mentioned throughout this site. CCDS is Coastal Center for Developmental Services and is a non-profit organization that provides training and employment-related services to more than 330 individuals with developmental disabilities in Southeast Georgia. Me*Power is the awareness campaign that supports the mission of empowerment that CCDS has fostered for the past 30 years.
Is my credit card information secure?
Coastal Center for Developmental Services takes every precaution to protect our donors’ information. When you submit sensitive information via the Web site, your information is protected both online and offline. We use PayPal as our primary payment processor. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Before you even register or log in to the PayPal site, our server checks that you’re using an approved browser – one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher.
Once your information reaches the PayPal site, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. PayPal servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers. My donation didn’t go through. Why?
If you received an error message after completing your transaction, it is likely that information provided, such as the credit card identification number, did not match exactly with what is on file at your bank. For further assistance, contact Michele Wagner at 912-644-7500.
I want to contribute but I don’t like submitting the information over the Web.
Although donating online is a fast and secure way to make a gift, there are several alternatives available. You can mail your check to us.

What percentage of my donation goes to the empowerment initiatives?
100% of donations go to all programs and services at CCDS to empower individuals with developmental disabilities
Can I make a donation in honor or memory of someone?
Yes. For more information about this process, please see our Honor and Memory Gifts page. CCDS will mail an acknowledgment card to your designated recipient or recipients informing them of your donation (the amount of the gift is not included). You will receive a gift receipt for income tax purposes. Please call Michele Wagner at 912-644-7500 with any questions.
Does CCDS issue tax receipts?
Yes, Coastal Center for Developmental Services is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, tax-exempt organization designated by the Internal Revenue Code. When you contribute over $5, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for income tax purposes.
When can I expect my receipt?
You can expect your receipt for your donation within one week from the date you send it in.
Does CCDS sell, rent or trade donor information (e.g., mailing and e-mail addresses and phone numbers) to other agencies?
The privacy of our donors is very important to us and we do not share or sell this information.
